Set up a Google TV or Android TV box

Google TV Streamer, Onn 4K Pro, Xiaomi TV Box S. Follow these steps on your own device, and check the troubleshooting resources if something doesn't work as expected.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Connect the box to the television using HDMI, then connect it to power and your home network.
  2. Complete the initial Google TV setup and install system updates.
  3. Open the TV version of the Google Play Store and search for your selected compatible media player, such as VLC or an authorized IPTV player.
  4. Install the app, open it, and add the media source or account details provided by your authorized service provider.
  5. If using a playlist, look for Add Playlist, M3U, or the appropriate provider login option. Exact labels differ by app.
  6. Verify that a permitted test video plays and that your guide or library appears as expected.
Helpful tipFor phone-to-TV casting, use a Cast-enabled app on your Android phone and keep both devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Cast compatibility depends on the player and the stream.
