Android mobile media setup

Play on your device or cast to Google TV. Follow these steps on your own device, and check the troubleshooting resources if something doesn't work as expected.

Step-by-step setup

  1. Open Google Play on your phone and install a reputable media player that supports your authorized media format.
  2. Open the player and import your own media, a permitted M3U playlist, or your provider-issued account details.
  3. Check that playback works on the phone before attempting casting.
  4. For casting, connect your phone and Google TV device to the same Wi-Fi network.
  5. Use the player’s Cast or Play on TV option, if supported, and choose your receiver.
  6. If the player does not offer Cast, use its official TV app directly on the Google TV box instead.
